San Francisco healthcare and pharmaceutical advertising photographer Robert Houser
When I arrived at the home of a four year old with a rare disease, she grabbed my hand and ran me up to her room;
“We’re going to play princess.”
For the next two hours I lay on the floor of her room shooting images as she danced and told me stories.
I’m often asked if this kind of work is hard or depressing, and I tell this story in response.
I find the work inspiring. The only depressing thing that day was that I couldn’t remember
the last time I had spent two hours on the floor of my own kids’ floor.
