Another project for Facing Light was called Adaptive Athletes. I shot Paralympic medalists and Paralympic hopefuls. This guy was on the Cal cycling team in the 90s when their peloton was struck by a driver. Continuing to ride post- amputation he went on to win gold on the track in 2000. The frigid morning of this January shoot, he had the San Jose velodrome opened for us at sunrise.
