Seeing Blindness - a photographic project examing all types of visual impairedness - by healthcare photographer Robert Houser
After Facing Chemo, I started a nonprofit that I ran for ten years called Facing Light. The goal of the nonprofit was to create medical related exhibits to educate and inspire. This image was from a project called Seeing Blindness that Genentech presented at an annual conference. The exhibit utilized VR on an iPad to simulate the field of vision that these subjects could see. The intent of the project was to see the people behind the blindness, seeing past the cane or the dog or the dark glasses. I wanted the viewer to really see the individuals. I love her smile.
